Since 2017, Saigal has served as Managing Director, leading the Global Finance business in India. In this role, he has overseen a wide range of financing solutions, including capital markets, leveraged finance, equity financing, structured credit, and distressed assets. He has also worked closely with large corporates and financial sponsors, guiding them through complex funding, risk management, and balance sheet strategies critical to the bank’s India operations.

Earlier in his Barclays journey, Saigal served as Managing Director, Corporate Finance, where he advised major Indian conglomerates and sponsors across financing, advisory, and risk management mandates. His work supported strategic initiatives in funding and growth while aligning with the bank’s broader India franchise objectives.

Prior to that, he held the role of Director and Co-Head of the Risk Solutions Group, where he played a pivotal role in delivering bespoke financial strategies to clients. This phase of his career reflected his ability to blend technical depth with client-centric advisory in highly dynamic market conditions.

Throughout his 21-year tenure at Barclays, Saigal has demonstrated deep sectoral insight, cross-functional leadership, and a consistent ability to deliver value in a rapidly evolving financial ecosystem.

Arun Saigal holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a Minor in Entrepreneurship and Finance from the National University of Singapore, graduating with Second Class Honors (Upper Division).
