Brian Shay Appointed as Interim Chief Human Resources Officer at The Chemours Company

Wilmington, Delaware, United States, September 2024 – Brian Shay has been appointed as the Interim Chief Human Resources Officer at The Chemours Company. In his new role, Shay will oversee the company’s People organization, focusing on fostering a culture that reflects the company’s core values and addresses the evolving needs of the business.

Prior to his current role, Brian Shay served as the Vice President, Human Resources Centers of Excellence at The Chemours Company for about a year. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Development globally, including HR Information Systems and payrolls.

Before this, he was the Vice President, Human Resources – Total Rewards, HR Operations & Corporate Functions HRBP Lead at The Chemours Company for approximately six months. Here, he led the Total Rewards and HR Operations functions and managed HR Business Partners serving Corporate Functions groups.

Brian Shay also held the position of Global Vice President Total Rewards & Sr. HRBP Corporate Functions at The Chemours Company for about a year and a half. In this dual role, he managed HR Business Partners for Corporate Functions and led the Total Rewards strategy.

Earlier, he was the Global Vice President of Total Rewards & Performance Management at The Chemours Company for about a year and a half, where he was the strategic architect of global Total Rewards programs, including executive compensation and regulatory compliance.

Before joining The Chemours Company, Shay spent approximately 17 years at SAP. He was the TR Leader – Innovation Lab & Global Variable Pay Design for nearly two years, where he shaped the company’s rewards strategies and implemented recognition frameworks.

Shay’s prior roles at SAP include Senior Director Total Rewards for about seven years, where he managed global mergers and acquisitions, and Director Compensation and Benefits for about three years, overseeing benefits and recognition programs across the Americas.

Earlier in his career, he served as Manager Compensation and Benefits at SAP for about two and a half years and as a Compensation Consultant for nearly two years. He began his career as a Senior Compensation Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers for about six years and as a Survey Manager and Client Service Coordinator at Hay Group for nearly two years.
