Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, June 2025 – Carl Wood has taken on a new leadership role as Head of People Governance & Compliance at Super Retail Group, one of Australia and New Zealand’s leading retail companies. In his new role, he will lead the governance of people practices, employment compliance, workplace relations, and policy frameworks across the group’s major lifestyle brands.
Prior to this appointment, Carl Wood served for approximately five years as Senior Manager Workplace Relations and Remuneration Governance at Super Retail Group. He facilitated alignment between HR, Finance, and Payroll teams, communicated directly with affected employees, and guided the executive leadership team through complex governance decisions, including submissions to the Fair Work Ombudsman.
In addition to his in-house leadership roles, Carl has spent over nine years as Managing Director at Wood Business Consulting, providing hands-on strategic change management and operational consulting to both commercial and not-for-profit organizations.
Earlier in his career, he held various leadership positions in tax governance and strategic planning at organizations such as Northside Christian College, Nexus Church, Terex Corporation, and Crowe Horwath. These roles laid a strong foundation for his integrated understanding of people strategy, compliance, and organizational transformation.
Super Retail Group is the proud owner of four iconic brands: Supercheap Auto, rebel, BCF and Macpac. With approximately 700 stores and a growing digital footprint, the company delivers integrated experiences across the auto, sports, and outdoor leisure categories.
