In her new leadership role, Carla will oversee the design and execution of AEFCU’s people strategy, including compensation, benefits, HR operations, technology, and employee well-being. Her mandate emphasizes innovation, equity, and employee experience—key priorities for AEFCU’s growing workforce.
Carla’s journey at American Eagle Financial Credit Union began in 2024, where she served as Assistant Vice President, Total Rewards & People Operations. In this role, she developed and implemented benefits and compensation programs that enhanced employee engagement and financial well-being. She also led HR technology modernization, compliance, and people analytics, improving operational efficiency and aligning HR processes with AEFCU’s member-first philosophy.
Before joining AEFCU, Carla held several strategic leadership positions at CVS Health, where she advanced through roles including HR Culture & Change Management Director and Senior Manager of Culture & Change Management. At CVS, she played a key role in designing enterprise-wide change strategies, embedding cultural transformation initiatives, and aligning leadership sponsorship to drive adoption of organizational change. Her contributions significantly improved employee engagement and organizational effectiveness during large-scale HR and business transitions.
Prior to CVS Health, Carla spent eight years at Aetna, where she held progressively senior HR roles such as HR Well-being Strategy & Operations Manager, Head of HR Transformation Initiatives, HR Operations Project Lead, and Benefits Strategy & Administration Manager. She designed and implemented well-being strategies, modernized benefits delivery for over 100,000 members, and helped shape Aetna’s telework and hybrid workplace models that later became foundational to the company’s approach to flexible work.
