Hong Kong, China, November 2025 — Carol Xu has started a new role as Chief People Officer, APAC at SharkNinja, a fast-growing US-listed global consumer product company known for innovation, design excellence, and its mission to “have positive impact to everyone’s life.” In her new mandate, she will play a pivotal role in shaping SharkNinja’s people strategy across the Asia-Pacific region while contributing to the company’s evolving “Outrageously Extraordinary” culture.
Carol steps into this role following her impactful tenure as Executive Vice President, Chief People Officer at Zuellig Pharma in Singapore, where she spent nearly five years leading transformational initiatives across the organisation. Her work included re-organising the group structure, establishing enterprise HR philosophies, implementing digital HR platforms, elevating engagement levels, and partnering with the Board through the Organization and Compensation Committee. Under her leadership, the company achieved a marked improvement in workforce stability, reflected by a significant reduction in voluntary attrition.
Before Zuellig Pharma, Carol served as Executive Vice President, HR of Lazada Group, part of the Alibaba ecosystem. In this capacity, she defined people strategy for one of the region’s largest e-logistics organisations, enabled large-scale digital transformation, and built manpower systems supporting thousands of operational staff. As Lead HR Business Partner, she drove regional–country collaboration and advanced multi-cultural integration across seven corporate functions while leading critical group-wide HR projects.
Prior to Lazada, she worked as a Business Consultant in Singapore, providing expertise in IPO readiness, business strategy articulation, organisation design, performance frameworks, rewards optimisation, globalisation strategy, and M&A-related organisational planning. Her advisory work strengthened the foundations of several companies preparing for scale or transformation.
Carol’s earlier career was shaped by an extensive period at Philips, where she held multiple senior HR leadership roles across Lighting and Healthcare. She contributed to major organisational shifts, including corporate spin-offs, digital transformation towards IoT, global business realignment, leadership development, and talent pipeline strengthening. She also previously held leadership positions with IMI, Alcoa, and Yum! Brands, where she gained deep expertise in building regional HR systems, establishing employer branding, driving rapid workforce expansion, shaping culture integration, and developing high-growth leadership teams across the Asia-Pacific region.
