Chad Groves Appointed as President and CEO of Seaboard Foods, Succeeding Retiring Peter Brown

MERRIAM, Kan. – Seaboard Corporation (NYSE American: SEB), a leading entity in the agribusiness and transportation sectors, today announced a pivotal leadership transition within its pork division, Seaboard Foods LLC. Chad Groves has been named the next President and Chief Executive Officer, taking the reins from Peter Brown, who will retire on June 28, 2024.

Peter Brown, who joined Seaboard Foods in January 2021, brought over three decades of executive leadership experience from the protein industry, including notable roles at Butterball and High Liner Foods. Over the past three years, Brown’s leadership has significantly contributed to Seaboard Foods’ growth and success. “Peter was a key leader on Seaboard’s executive management team, and we wish him all the best in his upcoming retirement,” expressed Bob Steer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Seaboard Corporation, acknowledging Brown’s impactful tenure.

Chad Groves, stepping into the role of President and CEO, has been part of Seaboard Foods since July 2021 as the Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Marketing, & Innovation. In this capacity, he has led various teams, including retail, foodservice, export, processor sales, marketing, sustainability, and innovation. Groves’ extensive experience also includes leadership positions at Trilliant Food & Nutrition LLC and High Liner Foods, showcasing his deep industry knowledge and strategic vision.

Holding a Bachelor of Science in selling and sales management from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Groves is well-equipped for his new role. Additionally, his involvement as a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer for the National Pork Board underscores his commitment to the pork industry’s growth and sustainability.
