Las Vegas, May 2024 – Wecom Fiber appoints Chris Tamura as Vice President of Human Resources. In this new role, Chris will lead the HR strategy and initiatives to support Wecom Fiber’s mission of delivering innovative telecommunications services.
Chris brings over 20 years of diverse human resources and management experience to Wecom Fiber. Prior to joining Wecom Fiber, he served as Executive Director of Human Resources at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for seven years. In this role, he led key HR initiatives including employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits, training, and organizational design. He was instrumental in developing diversity and inclusion strategies, implementing training programs, and optimizing payroll and benefits.
Before Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Chris was Director of Human Resources at Palms Casino Resort, where he managed HR functions for over 2,000 employees. He orchestrated employee appreciation events, created internship opportunities, and collaborated with the local community to reduce turnover rates. He also developed strategic HR models while ensuring compliance with labor laws.
Earlier in his career, Chris held positions such as Student Affairs Program Manager at TISOH – The International School of Hospitality, where he managed and coordinated student externship programs and facilitated leadership seminars. He also served as Concierge Supervisor at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Human Resources Manager at Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, where he was responsible for recruitment, compensation, and employee and labor relations.
Chris started his HR journey as Employee Relations specialist at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, providing guidance to management on personnel policies and developing strategic solutions for improved business outcomes.
