Schaffhausen, Switzerland, July 2025 – Christopher Merrell has taken on the role of Chief Marketing Officer at Georg Fischer (GF), a global industrial leader in flow solutions and precision engineering. In his new capacity, Christopher will spearhead global marketing, communications, customer experience, and brand initiatives to support GF’s ongoing strategic transformation into a global Flow Solutions leader.
Before assuming this group-level position, Christopher Merrell served for over six years at GF Piping Systems, where he first led as Head of Global Marketing & Communications and then as Chief Marketing Officer. During this tenure, he transformed the company’s global marketing and communications function, driving high-value growth strategies, sales effectiveness, and customer-centric programs across international markets.
Earlier, Christopher held several senior roles at ABB over a span of approximately six years, including Global Head of Marketing for Power Grids Automation, Product Marketing Director, and finally Marketing Director for the Grid Automation business unit. His leadership helped shape ABB’s global product messaging, campaign development, and digital transformation across power and automation solutions.
Prior to ABB, he served as Head of EMEA Marketing Communications at Garmin International for over three years, where he led integrated marketing strategies across Garmin’s product segments in multiple languages and countries. He had earlier contributed to Garmin as UK & Ireland Marketing Communications Manager, overseeing campaign execution across retail channels and sectors.
Christopher began his career in the transport and travel sector, serving as Marketing Manager at Condor Ferries for more than six years, where he led strategic marketing initiatives to drive passenger volume and revenue, executing integrated campaigns across direct, digital, and traditional channels.
