Lake County, Illinois, United States, July 2025 – D Crum has been appointed as the new Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer at AbbVie, succeeding Tim Richmond, who is retiring after a decade of distinguished service as the company’s first CHRO.
Richmond, reflecting on his journey, shared, “It’s been my greatest privilege to help shape the culture, strategy and leadership that have guided AbbVie from day one… I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together. D Crum brings over two decades of HR leadership experience, with the past eight years at AbbVie where he has held strategic roles including Vice President, Total Rewards, Vice President, Compensation, and Vice President, Business Human Resources. He has overseen critical HR portfolios such as executive compensation, benefits, well-being, HR operations, and talent deployment, playing a pivotal role in shaping AbbVie’s global HR strategy.
Before joining AbbVie, he served as Director of Human Resources at PepsiCo and at The Kraft Heinz Company, where he led HR for central marketing, R&D, and innovation. His earlier tenure at Kraft Foods Group spanned over seven years, including leadership roles in employee relations, organizational design, strategic planning, and workforce development across union and non-union sites in the U.S.
He began his career as an HR Specialist in staffing and steadily progressed through roles of increasing responsibility across Kraft’s national operations, building a robust foundation in labor relations, talent strategy, and enterprise HR transformation.
