Greater Boston, Massachusetts, United States, February 2026 — Space Age Electronics, Inc., a leading solutions provider to the fire, life safety, and commercial building systems industries, has appointed David Arcand as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, Arcand will lead company-wide operational performance, scale manufacturing and engineering capabilities, and strengthen product delivery execution across Space Age Electronics’ ISO-certified U.S. facilities.
David Arcand brings a strong blend of manufacturing leadership, engineering transformation, supply chain excellence, and operational scale-up experience to his new role as Chief Operating Officer at Space Age Electronics, Inc.
In early 2026, Arcand was elevated to COO after serving nearly one year as Vice President of Engineering at Space Age Electronics, Inc., based in the Greater Boston region. During this period, he led engineering leadership priorities including product development and acquisition integration, strengthening internal capabilities that align closely with the operational rigour required in his current executive mandate.
Prior to joining Space Age Electronics, Arcand served for over four years at Solmetex, LLC as Director of Manufacturing Operations & Global Supply Chain, where he led the organization’s end-to-end operations across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering. He managed a multi-site operational structure spanning Massachusetts, Colorado, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and led the integration of multiple acquisitions that contributed to significant scale-up outcomes—reportedly supporting a 62% revenue increase and 105% headcount growth in a short period following acquisition integration. He also spearheaded the implementation of a Quality Management System aligned with 21 CFR 820, achieving ISO 13485:2016 certification in 2023, while further advancing EU-MDR compliance initiatives. His leadership also emphasized lean operational discipline through tools such as 5S, cycle count programs, visual management, structured problem solving, and sustained six-figure annual cost reductions through waste elimination and cost control.
Earlier, Arcand built a long and impactful career at Bose Corporation, where he spent over two decades in progressive operations and engineering leadership roles. He served as Senior Manager, Process Development Engineering, leading a global engineering team responsible for electronics assembly development, manufacturing test, and new product introduction, while overseeing a $25 million annual operating and capital expense budget. Prior roles at Bose included leading large-scale plant engineering functions—managing teams of 90+ across SMT, automation, plastics injection molding, facilities, EHS, and reliability—as well as serving as Plant Manufacturing Manager, where he led production teams of 300+ in a 24×7 manufacturing environment, delivering certifications including TS/IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, and driving continuous improvement through lean initiatives such as Kaizen, waste elimination, and structured problem solving.
Arcand began his early operations leadership journey at Motorola, where he served as Manufacturing Supervisor, supporting high-volume mobile phone manufacturing and testing operations.
Across his career, David Arcand has consistently demonstrated strength in operational governance, structured manufacturing systems, continuous improvement, and scale leadership, making him well-positioned to drive Space Age Electronics’ operational excellence agenda.
