Gurugram, Haryana, India, April 2025 – Debjyoti Dutta has been elevated to the role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) & Vice President – South-East Zone at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished two-decade journey in the automotive sector. Prior to this elevation, Dutta served as General Manager and Commercial Business Head – Arena Channel (South Zone) at Maruti Suzuki, where he led sales operations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, contributing to 2.26 lakh annual car sales and ₹14,700 crores in revenue, nearly 19% of the company’s national sales. His leadership encompassed a network of 590 outlets and involved end-to-end sales strategy, profitability management, and digital marketing innovation.

Before taking charge of the Arena Channel, Dutta led the Nexa Channel in the South Zone, where he was responsible for generating ₹5,000 crores in annual revenue from over 60,000 car sales. His role involved launching new zones, building high-performing teams, and expanding Maruti Suzuki’s premium retail footprint in the region.

Dutta has held several key leadership positions at Maruti Suzuki over the last 20+ years, including General Manager – South East Zone (Nexa), Deputy General Manager – Regional Manager, Regional Manager in the North East, and Area Manager in Coimbatore. His wide-ranging exposure across geographies, from the culturally rich North-East to high-volume southern markets, has shaped his ability to drive customer-centric strategies and agile sales models.

Dutta began his career at Hero MotoCorp, where he spent approximately six years in roles such as Sales Manager, Senior Sales Officer, and After Sales Engineer, gaining hands-on experience in frontline sales and service operations. His grounding in the two-wheeler segment enabled a seamless transition into the car segment, with a strong understanding of consumer behavior across urban and rural landscapes.
