Kolkata, West Bengal, India, April 2025 — Dhiraj Sorte has been appointed as Head of Human Resources for the East Zone at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). With over 12 years of progressive experience at HPCL and a strong background in human resources management, Dhiraj is poised to lead HR functions for one of HPCL’s strategically significant zones.

During his tenure at HPCL, Dhiraj has served in various key capacities, most recently as Senior Manager – Performance Management, where he was responsible for developing talent strategies, enhancing organizational performance, and optimizing human capital processes. His earlier roles as Manager – Performance Management, Assistant Manager – Human Resources, and Officer – Talent Acquisition have provided him with a deep understanding of the company’s talent ecosystem and strategic HR practices.

Before joining HPCL, Dhiraj Sorte gained valuable industry exposure through internships and consulting assignments at prestigious organizations such as Colgate-Palmolive and Horwath HTL India, where he honed his skills in talent management, HR strategy, and organizational development.

An alumnus of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, Dhiraj holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations, one of the premier programs in the country for HR professionals. His strong academic background, coupled with practical leadership experience, positions him well to drive HPCL’s talent and performance initiatives in the East Zone.

In his new role, Dhiraj Sorte will oversee all aspects of HR operations across the East Zone, focusing on talent acquisition, employee engagement, leadership development, and performance optimization. His leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing HPCL’s HR strategy, aligning workforce management with business objectives, and fostering a high-performance culture across the organization.
