With a career spanning 23 years, Dhawan brings deep expertise in media, marketing, business development, and digital transformation across high-impact roles in technology and telecom. Prior to joining The Trade Desk, he served as Head of Ads at Disney+ Hotstar, where he led monetization strategy and digital ad solutions. His tenure included the platform’s recent strategic merger with JioCinema, forming the combined streaming giant JioStar.
Before Disney+ Hotstar, Dhawan spent nearly a decade at Google, where he held several leadership roles, including Industry Lead – FMCG & CPG D2C, Group Head – Accelerator Business, and Industry Head – Telecom & Payments. During this time, he led digital growth initiatives, working closely with top industry players such as Reliance Jio, Airtel, VodafoneIdea, and Paytm. His contributions played a vital role in advancing Google’s influence across India’s telecom, finance, and consumer verticals.
Earlier in his career, Dhawan held senior roles at Bharti Airtel, where he was instrumental in developing mobile entertainment and enterprise solutions. He also worked at Accenture, driving digital transformation and mobile application strategy for major telecom clients. His early leadership journey was shaped through key marketing and strategy assignments at Airtel and a formative stint with Electrolux Kelvinator during his management training.
Known for his strong commercial acumen, Dhawan has consistently built high-performing teams and developed scalable solutions to drive revenue growth. In his new role at The Trade Desk, he is expected to elevate the company’s positioning in the programmatic advertising space and drive innovation through data-driven, transparent media buying strategies.
