Washington, D.C., United States, February 2025 – Diana McCallum has been appointed as Vice President, HHS – Human Services at Mathematica, where she will lead strategic initiatives focused on research, evaluation, and policy development for human services programs. With a distinguished career in evidence-based policymaking, research, and evaluation, McCallum brings extensive expertise in public sector consulting and social science research to her new role.
McCallum has been with Mathematica for over eight years, previously serving as Executive Director and Senior Director of Research and Evaluation, where she led national studies, provided technical assistance to government agencies, and directed large-scale research projects on human services, youth development, and social policy. Her leadership has been instrumental in advancing impactful research to improve program effectiveness and policy decisions.
Before joining Mathematica, McCallum was an Education Research Analyst at the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences (IES), where she managed multi-million-dollar federal research investments and played a key role in evidence-based grant competitions. She also led evaluation initiatives on education policies, data-driven instruction, and federal grant assessments.
Earlier in her career, she worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as a Social Science Research Analyst, where she designed and co-managed a $13 million national evaluation on evidence-based initiatives for youth services. She also led cross-agency collaborations on social policy programs, contributing to key research on teen pregnancy prevention, foster care, and home visitation programs.
With over 15 years of experience in research, evaluation, and public policy, McCallum’s leadership at Mathematica will further strengthen the company’s human services research and policy advisory efforts, supporting evidence-based decision-making for government agencies and social sector organizations.
