Doris Portis has been promoted to the role of Senior Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, and Chief Human Resources Officer at First Independence Bank.
This pivotal appointment marks a significant step in Portis’s distinguished career in human resources and administrative leadership, spanning over three decades.
Before her latest elevation, Portis served as the Director of Human Resources at First Independence Bank for more than two years, overseeing the HR functions in Detroit, Michigan, and orchestrating the HR framework for a new branch opening in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her adept leadership in these roles underscored her capacity to steer the bank’s human resources and administrative operations towards greater heights.
Portis’s rich HR experience also includes impactful tenures at Advantage Living Centers and the Detroit Medical Center. At Advantage Living Centers, she held the position of Corporate Director of Human Resources, where she played a crucial role in managing corporate HR operations from January 2019 to January 2022. Her tenure at the Detroit Medical Center spanned a remarkable decade, where she served as a Senior HR Business Consultant, enhancing HR strategies and practices that significantly contributed to the organization’s success.
