Hyderabad, Telangana, India, October 2025 — Dr. Mruthyanjaya Rao M. has joined Kapston Services Limited as General Manager – Human Resources, marking a key addition to the company’s senior leadership team. In his new role, he will drive the strategic HR agenda, focusing on organizational development, learning and development, talent management, employee experience, and compensation strategy to strengthen Kapston’s human capital ecosystem. His appointment aligns with the organization’s vision of nurturing a high-performance, people-centric culture across its 30,000+ workforce nationwide.

Prior to joining Kapston, Dr. Rao served as Functional Head (Senior HR) at Chanakya University, Bangalore, where he implemented structured HR practices including compensation benchmarking, a revised performance management policy, and improved employee data governance. He also introduced outbound team-building programs, enhanced transparency through townhalls, and positioned the university on global academic platforms such as SCI-ROI and Akadeus, significantly improving visibility and collaboration.

Before that, he held the role of Head of HR at CMR University, where he played a key role in the institution’s NAAC accreditation process, helping it achieve an ‘A’ grade in its first cycle. His leadership in revising pay structures, implementing performance and career advancement systems, and redesigning HR processes reduced employee query resolution time by over 70%, building trust and efficiency in the HR function.

Earlier, Dr. Rao served as Head of HR (HCM & L&D – India & Dubai Operations) at Symbiosis International University, where he transformed HR into a strategic business function. He led key initiatives such as the INDEX portal for research tracking, digitization of HR processes, and the development of the university’s first L&D portal. His leadership drove over 55 training programs, benefiting 1,700+ employees, and his compensation redesign initiative led to significant cost savings exceeding ₹15 crore, while also strengthening governance and compliance.

Prior to his academic leadership roles, he held significant corporate HR positions at organizations including Teqsar, Karvy Stock Broking Limited, BroadGate Software Solutions, mFino, and VoiceGate Technologies. Across these roles, he successfully led rapid talent acquisition initiatives, optimized organizational structures for cost efficiency, and automated key HR operations. His career demonstrates consistent success in aligning HR strategy with business outcomes and driving transformation across diverse industries.

Dr. Rao holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Human Resources Management) from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, where his research focused on performance management systems in mCommerce and IT/ITES organizations. He also earned his MBA in Human Resources Management from Acharya Nagarjuna University, strengthening his academic and professional foundation in strategic HR leadership.
