Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 2026 — Egis has appointed Dr. Ali Amiri as Group Director – Buildings, an expanded global leadership role in which he will lead the development of the Group’s Buildings sector across all regions.
In this role, Dr. Ali Amiri will be responsible for strengthening technical excellence, advancing low-carbon and sustainable design, and accelerating digitally enabled delivery across Egis’ global Buildings portfolio. He will take on these responsibilities while continuing to support the consolidation and technical governance of Egis’ Energy & Sustainable Cities activities in the Middle East and South Asia.
Dr. Amiri has been with Egis since January 2023, serving as Group Director – Buildings based in Dubai. During this period, he has played a central role in shaping building-sector strategy, reinforcing governance frameworks, and aligning multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex, future-ready projects across international markets.
Prior to joining Egis, he spent over five years at Ramboll Middle East, where he served as Sustainability Director – Head of Specialisms. In this role, he led regional sustainability and specialist practices, embedding low-carbon strategies, climate resilience, and performance-driven design across major developments in the Middle East.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Amiri held senior delivery and consultancy roles at Parsons Corporation and Ramboll, working across large-scale infrastructure, transport systems, and mixed-use developments in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Europe. His experience spans digital transformation, complex project governance, and sustainable design delivery across buildings and infrastructure.
Dr. Amiri holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from University College London, where his research focused on sustainability appraisal models for infrastructure assets, reinforcing his long-standing commitment to evidence-based, low-carbon development.
