Raleigh, North Carolina, United States, December 2025 — Eric Shangle has started a new position as Chief Human Resources Officer at Gallo Mechanical, LLC, taking on a critical leadership role as the company strengthens its people strategy, organizational capabilities, and workforce operations across the Gulf South and southeastern United States.
Before joining Gallo Mechanical, Eric Shangle held a dual leadership portfolio as Senior Vice President, People & Culture at both Blue Ridge Power and Pine Gate Renewables, where he led large-scale HR, talent, L&D, facilities, recruiting, and administration functions through hypergrowth and major organizational transformation. At Pine Gate Renewables, he helped scale the company from 100 to more than 1,600 employees, built people systems from the ground up, led two acquisitions, guided change management through multiple reorganizations, and shaped enterprise-wide talent development and total rewards frameworks.
Prior to this, Eric served as Vice President of People & Culture at Figure Eight, the AI data labeling platform, where he reported to the CEO and led the HR and G&A functions during rapid growth and a successful acquisition by Appen. He built core people processes, strengthened organizational culture, supported federal contracting structures, and helped the business achieve 100% year-over-year growth.
Before joining Figure Eight, Eric was Senior Director of People Operations at ZeroCater, where he supported Series A fundraising, grew the workforce by 35% annually, and transformed the employee experience through culture initiatives and people-focused operations. He also served as Head of Human Resources at Enjoy Technology, where he created the HR function from the ground up during seed-to-Series B expansion and scaled the company from 13 to more than 200 employees in a single year.
Earlier in his career, Eric held HR leadership roles at Torani, Morgans Hotel Group, Hotel Whitcomb, Hillrom, and served nearly nine years in the U.S. Navy as a Meteorology & Oceanography Officer, where he managed HR, training, and operational functions. His service included responsibilities as Director of Human Services, Department Head for Training & HR, and Naval Officer across multiple U.S. locations.
