Western Cape, South Africa, September 2025 – Anthem, one of South Africa’s largest Independent Power Producers (IPPs), has appointed Fatiema Ahmed as its new Chief Human Capital Officer. In this role, Ahmed will lead Anthem’s people strategy, supporting its mission to drive sustainable energy transition across Southern Africa through innovation, inclusivity, and long-term value creation.
Ahmed joins Anthem after an impactful tenure of nearly eight years at EIMS Africa, where she served as Head of Human Resources. In this role, she guided the company through significant organizational growth, driving workforce strategies that supported large-scale renewable energy projects across the continent. Her leadership focused on talent acquisition, organizational development, and embedding a culture of sustainability and performance.
Before her leadership at EIMS Africa, Ahmed was part of Old Mutual Wealth, where she worked as a Senior Human Resources Manager for over three years. During this period, she was instrumental in shaping HR strategies to support the organization’s business transformation, strengthening employee engagement and talent pipelines.
Ahmed also spent more than nine years at Old Mutual South Africa, serving as Senior Human Resources Manager. Her work included leading HR operations, driving organizational design initiatives, and enabling large-scale workforce transitions. This extensive tenure gave her a strong foundation in people leadership across one of the country’s most influential financial institutions.
Ahmed holds a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of the Western Cape, equipping her with deep expertise in aligning workforce strategies with organizational behavior and human capital development.
