Munich, Bavaria, Germany, December 2025 – Frank Weinreich has taken over as the new Head of Human Resources at Lufthansa Aviation, assuming responsibility for leading people, leadership, and labor relations strategy aligned with Lufthansa Group’s broader transformation goals. In this critical role, Frank will oversee HR operations for Lufthansa Aviation and its associated AOCs—City Airlines and CityLine—serving over 3,000 employees across cockpit, cabin, technical, and administrative functions.
In this capacity, he will manage end-to-end workforce planning, performance and leadership development, and act as the key advisor on employment law, collective bargaining, and reward strategy. With a strong focus on modernization and digitization, his mandate will ensure efficient, competitive, and future-ready HR solutions that support Lufthansa Aviation’s goal of delivering reliable short-haul operations.
Prior to this role, Frank served as Head of Human Resources at Lufthansa CityLine, where he led HR strategy and transformation initiatives for over four years, supporting cultural change, employee engagement, and leadership capability building within the airline’s regional operation.
Earlier, he held the position of Managing Director and Senior Director at Lufthansa Global Business Services in North America, managing HR services and delivery across the region. Before that, he worked with Lufthansa Technik as Senior Director Human Resources, driving HR compliance, workforce realignment, and employee relations at the Frankfurt facility.
Frank’s earlier experiences also include leadership roles within Lufthansa’s Sales and Management Services division, and at LSG Sky Chefs, where he was Vice President of Corporate Compensation & Benefits. He has also held senior HR leadership positions at Mercedes-Benz (Daimler AG), contributing to large-scale organizational transformation, compensation system design, and labor negotiations.
