Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, January 2025 — Gareth Evans has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Hydrix, a Melbourne-based product development company specializing in complex, regulated, and safety-critical projects. In his new role, Evans will oversee financial strategy and management to support the company’s mission of transforming technology innovation across various industries.
Gareth Evans brings extensive financial leadership experience to his new role at Hydrix. Before stepping into the CFO position, he served as the Group Head of Finance at Hydrix for nearly two years, where he played a pivotal role in financial reporting and corporate strategy.

Prior to joining Hydrix, Evans was the General Manager – Finance at Calvary Health Care for over a year, where he contributed significantly to financial operations and strategic financial planning.
He also held various leadership roles at Japara Healthcare Limited, including Group Finance Manager and Group Reporting Manager, where he managed financial reporting and group-wide financial management functions over a two-year period.
Before his time in the healthcare sector, Evans worked at EY for over nine years in progressive roles, ultimately serving as Senior Manager – Financial Accounting Advisory Services. During his tenure, he provided strategic financial advisory services, including compliance and reporting support to large organizations across multiple industries.
