Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, November 2025 — Axis Bank, India’s third-largest private sector bank, has appointed Gaurav Bayas as National Sales Manager – Bharat Banking Microfinance (BC Channel). This appointment marks a significant milestone in Gaurav’s decade-long journey across the banking and financial services sector, where he has built strong expertise in business banking, MSME and rural finance, credit policy, and process management.
With over 11 years of experience, Gaurav has developed deep domain expertise in business development, financial inclusion, product management, credit underwriting, audit, regulatory compliance, risk management, and operations. Before assuming his new role, he served as Assistant Vice President & Product Lead – Bharat Banking at Axis Bank, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening the bank’s microfinance and rural banking ecosystem. He was instrumental in driving initiatives under priority sector lending, government-sponsored schemes, and digital process automation, which significantly improved efficiency and portfolio quality across Bharat Banking operations.
Prior to joining Axis Bank, Gaurav was associated with the State Bank of India, where he managed MSME, retail, and agriculture portfolios as a Circle-Based Officer and Credit Officer. His work spanned credit appraisals, underwriting, financial inclusion programs, and government scheme disbursements. Gaurav also worked with YES BANK as Deputy Manager and Axis Securities (deputed at Axis Bank) as Senior Business Executive, where he successfully led sales and business development for MSME clients, credit assessments, and fund-based as well as non-fund-based solutions.
Beginning his career at Andromeda Marketing Pvt. Ltd., Gaurav gained early exposure in customer engagement and service excellence, setting the foundation for his growth in financial services. His well-rounded experience across urban, rural, and semi-urban banking environments, coupled with his strategic acumen and leadership skills, positions him strongly to drive Axis Bank’s Microfinance (BC Channel) strategy—focusing on financial inclusion for women, SHGs, JLGs, and micro-entrepreneurs across India.
