Colombo, Sri Lanka – Gayan Thilakarathne has officially been promoted to the role of Group Head of Human Resources at Dilmah Tea, marking a significant step in his 7-year tenure with the company. Thilakarathne will now oversee human resources operations and strategies across Dilmah’s expansive portfolio, focusing on aligning the company’s culture with its long-term business goals.
Thilakarathne’s career at Dilmah Tea began as a Human Resources Manager before advancing to Head of Human Resources, where he was instrumental in driving key HR strategies that significantly aligned with the company’s core business objectives. His leadership has been pivotal in fostering a culture of excellence and spearheading major talent engagement and development initiatives across the organization.
Prior to his tenure at Dilmah Tea, Thilakarathne enhanced his expertise at Brandix, where he served as Manager of Talent Engagement & Development. Here, he was a strategic business partner to the CEO and played a crucial role in overseeing all group HR initiatives, which included learning and development, employee career progression planning, and performance management.
