Gill Baker has been appointed as the new Chief People Officer at Summit Group, a role she assumed in April 2024. Baker’s appointment is a testament to her extensive experience and proficiency in human resources, cultivated over more than two decades of dedicated service in global HR leadership.
Before her latest role, Baker was the Global Head of HR Business Partnering at Apex Group Ltd, where she served for two years from March 2022 to April 2024. During her tenure, she was instrumental in identifying HR trends, developing incentive programs, and enhancing business relationship management across the company’s worldwide operations.
Previously, Baker held the position of Interim Chief HR Officer, also at Apex Group Ltd, focusing on executive coaching and labor law compliance while covering maternity leave from January 2021 to March 2022. Her efforts during this period ensured continuity and leadership within the HR department.
From May 2020 to February 2021, Baker was the Head of HR for Europe at Apex Group Ltd, where she managed HR metrics and project management, further establishing her as a trusted business partner and influential communicator within the corporate structure.
Her earlier roles include significant positions at Quilter and First Names Group, where she developed and executed strategic HR initiatives that supported business objectives and fostered employee engagement across diverse global teams.
