Tyler, Texas, United States, September 2024 – University of Texas at Tyler has announced the appointment of Gracy Buentello Bonnette as the new Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, Gracy will oversee the university’s HR strategies, driving initiatives to enhance employee engagement, talent management, and organizational development.
Prior to this, Gracy served as the Associate Vice President for HR at the University of Texas at Tyler for approximately 3 years and 5 months, where she played a pivotal role in advancing the university’s human resources functions, including policy development, employee relations, and strategic planning.
Before her tenure as AVP, she was the Director of Human Resources at the University of Texas at Tyler for about 3 years and 7 months. In this position, Gracy focused on refining recruitment processes, enhancing benefits programs, and strengthening employee support services.
Earlier in her career, Gracy held the role of Human Resources Specialist IV at the Texas Department of Transportation in Laredo, Texas, for nearly 3 years, where she managed various HR functions, including employee recruitment and compliance with state regulations.
Gracy also served as Associate Director of Human Resources at Texas A&M International University for about 2 years and 6 months, where she was responsible for managing HR operations and employee relations.
