Driving Diversity: GreenCell Mobility’s Pride Month in Action

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2025 – Reinforcing its ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, GreenCell Mobility, India’s leading provider of sustainable urban and intercity mobility solutions, is celebrating Pride Month 2025 with a series of thoughtful and meaningful initiatives that spotlight the voices and contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community within and beyond its workforce.

As part of this year’s activities, GreenCell Mobility organized a one-of-a-kind, interactive event today in conjunction with inclusion partner AVTAR: a Forum Theatre Performance on Microaggressions. This immersive, participatory theatre experience allows employees to witness everyday microaggression scenarios, pause the play, and actively participate in the scene to suggest and execute alternate, more compassionate reactions. The objective is to help employees recognize, understand, and respond to subtle yet harmful interactions that often go unnoticed in day-to-day professional environments. Through this, the company aims to nurture empathy, spark meaningful conversations, and equip participants with constructive intervention strategies in a safe, supportive setting.

Over the years, GreenCell Mobility has steadily embedded inclusion into the heart of its culture, not just in policy but in everyday practice. The company currently employs LGBTQIA+ team members across key functions, including Coach Captains, Command Centre, Operations, Finance, and Administration. Their diverse perspectives and contributions are integral to the company’s progress as it builds a forward-looking, people-first organisation.

GreenCell Mobility’s commitment to inclusivity extends beyond the workplace. Its flagship intercity electric bus brand, NueGo, continues to champion women-first travel innovations such as dedicated pink seats, live bus tracking, a 24/7 women’s helpline, and all-women crew-operated buses on select routes. These efforts have earned NueGo significant trust from women guests, who now constitute over 30% of its total ridership — the highest in the industry.

This year’s Pride Month program includes several awareness-led engagements aimed at fostering dialogue and acceptance, including diversity sensitization sessions for employees, collaborations with Tweet Foundation and Dancing Queens to empower members of the transgender community, inspiring talks by LGBTQIA+ guest speakers sharing lived experiences, and Pride-themed displays across offices and depots nationwide. As the company continues to advance its clean mobility mission, it remains equally committed to cultivating a workplace and society where every individual, regardless of gender identity or orientation, feels empowered, respected, and celebrated.
