Greater Delhi Area, India, December 2025 — Harmanpreet Singh Khanna has taken on an expanded leadership role as Senior Vice President – Head Strategic Affairs, Government & Defence Business at HDFC Bank. In this capacity, he will spearhead the Bank’s engagement with central and state government bodies, defence institutions, and key public sector stakeholders, strengthening HDFC Bank’s leadership in government and institutional banking.
With over two decades of leadership experience in government, institutional, and public affairs banking, Harmanpreet Singh Khanna has built a distinguished career driving large-scale government partnerships and policy-aligned banking frameworks. Prior to his current role, he served as Head – Strategic Affairs, Government & Defence Business at HDFC Bank, where he strengthened government engagement models and enhanced the Bank’s positioning across central and defence ecosystems.
Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he served as Zonal Head – North, Government & Agency Business, Diplomatic Missions & Institutional Business, and earlier as Vice President – Government Banking & Diplomatic Missions, building extensive public sector banking portfolios across North India.
His career foundation was shaped through leadership assignments at Standard Chartered Bank and earlier roles within HDFC Bank, where he led branch banking, institutional business development, and large relationship management programs, giving him deep operational and strategic insight into public-sector banking dynamics.
Harmanpreet Singh Khanna has completed an MDP in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, and holds an MBA in Business, Management & Marketing from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
