Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, March 2026 — HDFC Life has appointed Vijay Vaidyanathan as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). With a long tenure at the organization spanning over two decades, he moves into the CHRO role with deep knowledge of the business and extensive leadership experience across strategic distribution, bancassurance alliances, team capability building, and senior stakeholder engagement.
In his career journey at HDFC Life, Vijay Vaidyanathan currently serves as Head/ Group Head – Key Alliances (Bancassurance), where he has led strategic bancassurance alliances with major banking partners across India, driven productivity and capability building across partner-facing teams, collaborated with senior stakeholders to align strategic priorities, and contributed to organization-wide initiatives including the Wellness & Wellbeing ERG and the Talent Council.
Prior to this, he held Senior Leadership Roles – Bancassurance, where he managed multiple national bancassurance partnerships with a focus on operational excellence and revenue growth, led large distributed teams, and mentored leaders while building next-generation managerial capability within alliance teams.
Earlier, he was part of Strategic Distribution & HNI Sales Leadership, where he worked on retail distribution strategy and channel development initiatives supporting expansion across channels and played a role in setting up and developing the HNI sales vertical.
