In her new role, Heidi will lead ING’s enterprise architecture strategy for its People and Hubs organization, shaping the technological and structural blueprint that drives operational excellence, global collaboration, and innovation across the bank’s ecosystem.
Heidi’s elevation comes after a progressive journey of nearly two years at ING, where she previously served as Architecture Chapter Lead and Architect at ING Nederland. During this period, she played a pivotal role in strengthening ING’s architectural frameworks, enhancing alignment across business and technology domains, and driving the modernization of enterprise platforms supporting global workforce and hub operations.
Before joining ING, Heidi built a distinguished career across major financial institutions in South Africa, including Standard Bank Group and Nedbank, where she spent over a decade leading large-scale enterprise and solutions architecture programs. As Enterprise Architect at Standard Bank, she was instrumental in designing complex technology landscapes and implementing integration frameworks to optimize efficiency and scalability across business lines.
Her earlier roles as Lead Architect at Nedbank and Solutions Architect within the bank’s enterprise architecture division reflect a consistent focus on designing sustainable, secure, and business-aligned IT solutions. Heidi’s expertise spans digital architecture, enterprise system design, information security, and business process integration, making her a key enabler of digital transformation in the financial services sector.
With over 20 years of experience spanning architecture, technology strategy, and project leadership, Heidi’s appointment underscores ING’s commitment to building a future-ready architecture that supports its global growth vision.
