Manama, Bahrain, December 2025 — The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has announced the appointment of Hend Mohamed Mahmood as Group Chief Human Resources Officer, effective December 14. With a distinguished career spanning over 30 years in human capital strategy, organizational transformation, and people development, Mahmood brings a depth of experience across Bahrain’s financial services and government-linked sectors.
Prior to joining NBB, Mahmood served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Bahrain Development Bank (BDB), where she led the people and culture agenda with a focus on driving engagement, talent growth, and strategic transformation. Her leadership helped position BDB as a progressive employer, integrating best-in-class HR practices and fostering a culture of high performance.
Earlier in her career, Mahmood spent over a decade as Vice President of Human Resources at Bahrain Airport Company, where she oversaw large-scale transformation, mergers and acquisitions, and the implementation of modern HR systems. She has also held senior HR roles at Tharawat Investment and Eskan Bank, where she led the full spectrum of HR operations, organizational design, and cultural alignment.
Beyond corporate roles, Mahmood has contributed to regional and international HR advancement through her service as Second Vice Chair of the HR Committee at Airports Council International (ACI World) and as a Trainer and Executive Coach at Bahrain’s Institute of Public Administration (BIPA). Her appointment at NBB marks a strategic step in the bank’s people-first transformation journey.
