Springdale, Arkansas — Tyson Foods has promoted two esteemed HR leaders, Holly Bourland and Matthew Bumgarner, to the roles of Vice President, Human Resources & Strategic People Partner. This reflects on Tyson Foods’ commitment to nurturing and advancing internal talent.
Holly Bourland’s Journey at Tyson Foods
With 16 years at Tyson Foods, Holly Bourland has consistently demonstrated excellence in human resources. Starting in 2008 as a Human Resource Generalist, she quickly progressed through various roles, including Assistant Recruiter and Corporate Recruiting Manager. In these positions, she refined her expertise in recruitment compliance, employment law, and strategic people management.
In 2014, she became HR Manager, followed by Senior HR Manager in 2017. She oversaw HR operations for the Springdale, Arkansas location, enhancing team performance and fostering a positive work culture. As HR Director from April 2020 to November 2023, she led her team in strategic people management across multiple departments. In her most recent role as Sr. Strategic HR Partner, she provided pivotal support for strategic HR initiatives, ensuring alignment with Tyson’s core values.
Bourland now takes on the Vice President role, where she will oversee strategic people partnerships, guiding her team to drive growth and foster a supportive work environment.
Matthew Bumgarner’s Career Growth at Tyson Foods
Matthew Bumgarner has dedicated over nine years to Tyson Foods, building a strong foundation in HR leadership. Starting as a Senior Recruiter in 2015, he advanced to Associate Director of Talent Acquisition and operations in 2016, where he developed proactive talent strategies and managed recruitment initiatives.
In 2017, he became Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition for Prepared Foods & College Relations, driving change management and embedding talent acquisition resources into business units. He later served as Senior Manager of HR Operations for Prepared Foods and Senior Manager of HR Distribution.
In March 2020, Bumgarner was promoted to HR Director for Corporate Services, supporting a wide range of departments, including Food Safety & Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Corporate Facilities. In January 2022, he became a Strategic HR Partner for Global Governance and corporate Affairs, followed by a Senior Strategic HR Partner for Poultry Operations in May 2023.
As Vice President of Human Resources and Strategic People Partner, Bumgarner will continue to shape HR strategies and lead his team in driving organizational excellence.
