Gurugram, Haryana, India, January 2026 — The Board of IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) has approved and announced the appointment of Aloke Singh as the airline’s new Chief Strategy Officer. In this role, Singh will lead IndiGo’s long-term strategic planning function and drive enterprise-wide transformation initiatives aimed at accelerating growth, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening competitive positioning in a rapidly evolving global aviation landscape.
Welcoming the appointment, Rahul Bhatia, Managing Director of IndiGo, said, “Aloke brings an exceptional blend of strategic vision and operational depth. For now, Aloke will report to me. Once the next CEO assumes office, he will transition to reporting to the new Chief Executive.”
Commenting on his appointment, Aloke Singh said, “I am delighted to join IndiGo at such a pivotal moment for the airline and for Indian aviation broadly.”
Singh brings over three decades of aviation industry experience spanning strategy, planning, operations, and commercial functions, with a career that includes leadership roles across airlines, consulting, and entrepreneurial ventures.
Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Air India Express, where he played a key role in the airline’s transformation, delivering operational improvements and driving rapid growth.
He also served as Managing Director of AirAsia India, leading business and operational priorities during a critical phase for the airline.
Before that, Singh worked with CAPA – Centre for Aviation as Senior Advisor, Airline Consulting, supporting advisory work across the aviation sector. Alongside this, he was Co-founder & CEO of OpenSky Resorts, building a travel and hospitality venture.
Earlier, he served as Chief Officer, Network Planning at Oman Air, focused on network strategy and planning. Singh has completed a Chevening Fellowship at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He also holds an MBA from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.
