Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, March 2025 – James Pulling has been appointed as Acting Head of People Experience at Open Universities Australia (OUA). In this role, he will lead initiatives focused on enhancing employee engagement, fostering a high-performance culture, and driving organizational effectiveness to support OUA’s mission of delivering accessible, high-quality online education.
Pulling has been with Open Universities Australia for over 12 years, contributing significantly to the organization’s agility, workforce transformation, and people-centric initiatives. Before this appointment, he served as Head of Organisational Agility & Effectiveness, where he played a key role in developing continuous improvement frameworks, leadership strategies, and business agility models to improve collaboration, efficiency, and employee experience.
Prior to that, he was Agile & Continuous Improvement Lead for over seven years, where he focused on embedding lean and agile methodologies across OUA, driving innovation, adaptability, and operational excellence. His efforts contributed to the evolution of OUA’s organizational culture and work practices, ensuring alignment with the institution’s long-term strategic goals.
Earlier in his career, Pulling gained extensive experience in business analysis, process improvement, and leadership coaching through roles at PA Consulting, Elabor8, and Agile Experience PTY LTD. In these positions, he led major transformation projects, implemented agile frameworks, and advised organizations on adopting new ways of working to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and digital transformation.
