The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. (IIA) has officially announced the appointment of Janet Ghosh as their new Chief People Officer. In her new role, Ghosh is responsible for “managing the human capital strategy and talent management initiatives for The IIA globally,” a pivotal position in steering the institute’s personnel and cultural framework.
Janet Ghosh brings over two decades of rich experience in human resources across various prestigious organizations, summing up to a total of 27 years in the field. Prior to joining The IIA, Ghosh held the position of Vice President, People at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc., where she served for nearly 14 years. During her tenure there, she was the Global Human Resources Director overseeing the HR functions for the Global Supply Management organization, managing a team spread across the USA, Europe, Asia, and Latin America with a substantial $10B spend.
Before her extensive stint at Stanley Black & Decker, Ghosh was deeply involved in the Middle East & North African regions, initially as the Director & Head of Human Resources, and later as the Group Human Resources Manager. These roles were critical in her career, particularly her involvement in the merger between Stanley and Black & Decker which significantly expanded the company’s footprint in Africa.
Earlier in her career, Ghosh worked at Siemens for eight years in Dubai, UAE, where she progressed from Human Resources Manager to Senior Human Resources Manager, and ultimately to Head of Learning and Development. Her initial roles in HR were with Seekers (rebranded Charterhouse), where she managed recruitment for multinational partners.
