San Diego, California, United States, August 2025 – Jeff S. has been appointed as Vice President, Head of Human Resources at Ventyx Biosciences, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing innovative oral therapies for autoimmune, inflammatory, and neurodegenerative diseases. In his new role, Jeff will lead HR strategy, organizational effectiveness, and people initiatives to support Ventyx’s growth and innovation.
Jeff brings over 25 years of diverse HR leadership experience spanning life sciences, healthcare, biotech, and technology. He joined Ventyx in October 2024 as Senior Director, HR Programs, later serving as Senior Director, Head of Human Resources, before being elevated to his current role.
Previously, Jeff held senior leadership positions across top biotech and life science companies. At Guardant Health, he led the HRBP and Employee Relations functions, directly supporting the CEO and executive leadership team. At Turning Point Therapeutics, he managed HR Business Partners and HR Programs, designing compensation planning frameworks and workforce development initiatives. His earlier roles include HRBP Director at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Senior HRBP at Illumina, and HR leadership positions at Dexcom and Life Technologies, where he drove large-scale organizational transformations, DEIB programs, and global workforce planning.
Jeff’s career began in the U.S. Army, where he served as a Senior Personnel Sergeant, directly supervising HR teams and leading training and development for more than 1,600 employees. This foundation in leadership and discipline has carried into his corporate career, where he is recognized for expertise in executive coaching, organizational design, culture change, and talent management.
Jeff holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Penn State University, further strengthening his strategic HR expertise.
