Lakewood, Colorado, United States – Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Matthews as the new Executive Director of Human Resources. Matthews brings over two decades of extensive human resources experience to her new role at the college’s Lakewood, Colorado campus.
Career Journey of Jennifer Matthews
Prior to joining RRCC, Jennifer Matthews served as the Associate Director of Human Resources at Arapahoe Community College from July 2018 to April 2024. During her tenure, she led significant initiatives in job classification, recruitment and retention, workforce planning, and employee relations, among others. Her strategic efforts were instrumental in enhancing HR services and fostering an inclusive work environment that supports professional growth and development.
From June 2015 to June 2018, Matthews was the Assistant Director of Human Resources at the Community College of Denver. In this role, she managed a range of functions including payroll processing, HR compliance, and employee training. Her leadership was pivotal in advancing the college’s strategic planning and effectiveness.
In addition to her roles in educational institutions, Jennifer has co-owned Columbine Microfarm LLC since February 2022, where she has honed her skills in customer service, budgeting, and management.
