New York, United States – Citibank has announced the promotion of Jennifer Meyer to the position of Chief Administrative Officer, Head of Risk & Controls to Chief Risk Officer of Citibank, N.A., and North America (NAM). This significant appointment, effective from March 2024, is set in New York where Meyer will operate in a hybrid working model, blending her responsibilities across Citibank’s vast network.
Jennifer Meyer’s journey within Citi began three years ago, where she has since demonstrated exemplary leadership and expertise in risk management and control frameworks. Prior to her new role, Meyer served as Director at Citi, where she was a senior member of the Equities Risk & Control team within Citigroup Global Markets, Inc. (CGMI). In this capacity, she was instrumental in leading and strengthening the first-line governance and control framework across CGMI’s global Equities business, ensuring alignment with firm-wide standards and regulatory expectations, including leading global Equities for regulatory remediation and transformation efforts.
Before joining Citi, Meyer made significant contributions to Prudential Financial, where she held the position of Vice President for nearly five years. At Prudential, she was the head of governance and regulatory coordination within the Chief Investment Office (CIO), playing a critical role in investment and asset-liability management across the insurance company’s general accounts. Meyer’s tenure at Prudential was marked by her efforts in creating and maintaining CIO Board-level governance, including investment and risk policies and limits, and spearheading responsible investing (ESG) initiatives.
Jennifer Meyer’s professional background also includes impactful roles at AIG, where she led the development and implementation of enhanced risk management frameworks as the Assistant Director, AIG Investments (AIGI) Governance. In this role, Meyer authored policies, procedures, and limits related to various risk categories and served as a central point of contact for AIGI’s interactions with internal audit and external regulators.
