Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, December 2025 — People with Disability Australia (PWDA) has announced the appointment of Jeramy Hope as its new President, marking a significant leadership milestone for Australia’s national peak disability rights and advocacy organisation led by and for people with disability.

In his new role, Jeramy Hope will provide strategic leadership and governance oversight to PWDA’s Board, strengthening accountability, organisational sustainability, and long-term impact. He will work closely with the executive leadership team to advance bold, independent, rights-based, and lived-experience-led systemic advocacy, while partnering with members, government stakeholders, and sector leaders to drive equity, inclusion, and self-determination for people with disability across Australia.

In his current leadership portfolio, Jeramy Hope brings deep experience in governance, public policy, and disability advocacy. Alongside his presidency at PWDA, he serves as a Member of the NDIS Reform Advisory Committee with the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, where he contributes lived-experience-informed advice on national disability reforms and amplifies the voices of people with disability in shaping a more inclusive and rights-based support ecosystem.

Previously, he has played a prominent role as a Member of the Disability Council NSW, including serving as Chair of the Accessible Communities Pillar, leading statewide advocacy on inclusive infrastructure, accessible design, and community engagement. His work has involved close collaboration with government agencies, legislative bodies, and community stakeholders to influence policy, promote accessibility, and drive systemic change.

Earlier in his career, Jeramy Hope held senior operational and executive leadership roles across major disability and community service organisations, including Scope (Aust) and Disability Services Australia (DSA). Across these roles, he led large, multi-site operations, managed complex organisational restructures, secured multi-million-dollar funding outcomes through government advocacy, and delivered governance, quality, and digital transformation initiatives—consistently centring participant outcomes, safety, and inclusion.

About People with Disability Australia (PWDA)

With a cross-disability focus, PWDA works to ensure the human rights, citizenship, contribution, potential, and diversity of people with disability are recognised, respected, and celebrated, advocating for a socially just, accessible, and inclusive Australia.
