New Delhi, Delhi, India, June 2025 – Modicare Ltd (KK Modi Group) has announced the appointment of Soma Maitra as its new Chief Operating Officer. Bringing over 25 years of rich experience across Retail, FMCG, Direct Selling, and Consulting, Maitra will spearhead Modicare’s growth journey, leading P&L, strategy, innovation, and execution across product, sales, and community functions. She is committed to building people, empowering entrepreneurs, and scaling the company’s impact, all while bringing to life Mr. Samir Modi’s visionary approach for a tech-enabled, purpose-driven social selling ecosystem.
Before joining Modicare, Soma Maitra was Co-Founder at The Go To Market Company, where she drove market expansion strategies for Indian and global brands. Under her leadership, the company became a 430-member team with a strong warehousing and distribution presence across India and South Asia, helping brands thrive through consulting, sales, and supply chain excellence.
Previously, Maitra was VP & Head – Innovation and Incubation, Grocery Retail Business at Reliance Retail, where she drove strategic CXO projects for the offline and online grocery businesses. She played a pivotal role in launching new categories, developing e-commerce platforms, and conceptualizing impactful marketing initiatives.
Her earlier tenure at Future Group India included serving as Chief – Membership & Community Connect for Small Formats and as Chief-Sales (Alternate Channels) at FCEL and Future Retail Ltd. Maitra managed the membership business, delivered on ambitious P&L targets, and played a key role in strategy, omni-channel marketing, and geographical expansion for leading brands.
Maitra’s career also includes impactful leadership roles as National Sales Head at Tupperware Brands India, where she contributed to a decade-long 10X growth journey, and sales and marketing stints at Reliance Communications, IFB Industries Ltd, and Hyatt Hotels Corporation. Early in her career, she served as Territory Head at Pentasoft Technologies Ltd, leading profit centres and exceeding business targets.
