London, England, United Kingdom, October 2025 — Sainsbury’s, one of the UK’s leading retailers, has announced the appointment of Jordan Tayler as Head of People – Transformation. In this pivotal role, Jordan will lead the strategic people transformation agenda across the organization, shaping Sainsbury’s future workforce and driving enterprise-wide change programs aligned with the company’s long-term growth vision.
Jordan joined Sainsbury’s in 2024 and has quickly advanced through a series of high-impact leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Head of People – Retail Change, where he built and deployed the company’s people change model from the ground up. He played a key role in developing Sainsbury’s Retail Workforce of the Future proposition in partnership with retail, transformation, and outcomes teams — an initiative aimed at equipping teams for agility, capability, and innovation in a rapidly evolving retail environment.
Prior to that, as Head of People Partnering – Retail, Jordan led a team of People Business Partners and People Delivery Partners supporting over 27,000 colleagues across 225 sites, including supermarket, convenience, and online channels. His leadership in designing a female mentoring program, establishing new partnering models, and aligning HR initiatives with the Next Level Sainsbury’s strategy demonstrated his commitment to inclusion, performance, and people development.
Before joining Sainsbury’s, Jordan held senior HR roles at Carnival UK (P&O Cruises & Cunard), where he was a Senior People Business Partner and a member of both the People Leadership Team and Technology Leadership Team. He led multiple transformation programs, including the development of future-fit operating models and digital leadership frameworks, and introduced the SFIA Skills and Behaviours Framework to drive workforce capability and planning across the technology function.
Earlier, Jordan spent over 14 years at Tesco, holding several strategic and operational HR roles, including HR Proposition/Programme Manager – Future Workforce and Head of HR – Tesco Family Dining Ltd. During his tenure, he designed and delivered Tesco’s Future Workforce Programme for 300,000 colleagues, led the creation of a new colleague contract, and drove one of the company’s largest investments in pay in a decade. His work across reward strategy, capability development, and workforce planning positioned Tesco as a more agile and future-ready organization.
Jordan holds a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from the University of Hertfordshire, bringing both academic and practical depth to his transformative approach to people leadership.
