New York, United States, April 2025 – Joyce Lau has taken on a new role as Head of People – Equities, Multi-Asset Arbitrage & Quant Research at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. In this position, Joyce will lead the people strategy across some of BAM’s most critical investment verticals, supporting global talent initiatives and building organizational capabilities to drive the firm’s continued expansion and innovation.
Before joining Balyasny Asset Management, Joyce Lau served as HR COO at Citadel Securities, where she played a pivotal role in optimizing HR operations, enhancing workforce efficiency, and aligning people initiatives with the firm’s business objectives over nearly three years.
Prior to Citadel Securities, she spent close to six years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in various leadership capacities. She progressed from Assistant Vice President, Human Resources – Global Markets to Vice President roles supporting both Global Markets and Global Commercial Banking, ultimately serving as Senior Vice President, Human Resources – Chief Financial Officer Group, where she drove strategic HR initiatives across finance functions.
Earlier, Joyce gained valuable experience in HR operations at American Express as part of the Talent Acquisition Reporting team, and at Bloomberg LP as an HRIS Analyst, where she supported the optimization of HR systems and processes. She also served as a Business Support Lead at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in her early career, laying a strong foundation in operational excellence.
