Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, April 2025 — Kapil Gupta has joined AU Small Finance Bank as Head – Treasury & Financial Markets, bringing with him over two decades of leadership in fixed income, foreign exchange, and derivatives trading across India and Southeast Asia. With a distinguished track record in some of the world’s leading financial institutions, he is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping AU Bank’s treasury strategy and expanding its international financial presence.

Before assuming this role, Kapil was associated with AU Small Finance Bank as Advisor – Business Development, where he led initiatives to enhance treasury product offerings, strengthen international trade finance capabilities, and improve brand visibility across overseas markets. His contributions in this capacity laid the groundwork for his formal transition to the executive leadership team.

Earlier, Kapil spent nearly 16 years at HSBC, including serving as Managing Director & Head of Trading and Head of Rates Trading at HSBC Malaysia. His leadership in managing complex trading portfolios and developing fixed income strategies helped the bank maintain a competitive edge in volatile markets.

He began his career at STCI Primary Dealer Ltd as Manager – Fixed Income Trading, where he developed core expertise in government securities and market-making strategies. He then served as Director – Interest Rates Trading at Standard Chartered Bank India, leading the bank’s interest rate desk and driving pricing strategy in the Indian debt markets.

With extensive cross-border experience and deep insight into treasury operations, Kapil’s appointment signals AU Bank’s commitment to building a globally competitive financial markets team.
