Pune, Maharashtra, India, March 2025 – Karan Bakshi has been appointed as the Director Talent Acquisition India & Pacific Region at Cummins Inc., a global technology leader in power solutions. In this strategic leadership role, Karan will spearhead Cummins’ talent acquisition initiatives across India and the Pacific, collaborating closely with senior leadership to build a diverse, high-performing workforce and strengthen Cummins’ reputation as an employer of choice.

Prior to joining Cummins Inc., Karan served at Michelin, initially as the Head of Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding EVP – India, then as the Head – Talent Management (HRBP), Employee Experience & Communication, and subsequently promoted to Regional Director L&D & Talent Acquisition – India, Middle-East, Africa (AIM Region). During his tenure at Michelin, Karan significantly enhanced the company’s talent acquisition and development practices, led university and campus programs, championed diversity and inclusion initiatives, and played an instrumental role in elevating Michelin’s employer brand across multiple international markets.

Before Michelin, Karan was associated with Mastercard as the Head Talent Acquisition & Executive Hiring India – APAC and Talent Management, where he directed recruitment strategies across the India and South Asia region, managed executive-level hiring, and actively supported diversity programs, including PRIDE BRG and initiatives for people with special abilities.

Earlier, Karan was the Staffing Head, India at TIBCO Software Inc., leading recruitment and HR operations across India and APAC. In this role, he successfully managed recruitment teams, executed complex hiring strategies, and enhanced employer branding through innovative recruitment and campus engagement programs.

His professional journey also includes significant HR and talent acquisition roles at companies such as Synechron, Allscripts, and Avaya, where he consistently showcased his expertise in stakeholder management, high-volume recruitment, leadership hiring, and transformational talent management practices.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
