Detroit, Michigan, United States, September 2025 – Kate Nerdrum has started a new position as Senior Director, HR Services and Systems at Ilitch Companies. In her new role, she will oversee compensation, benefits, payroll, and HRIS functions, driving HR technology strategies and total rewards programs that align with business objectives across the company’s diverse portfolio.
Before joining Ilitch Companies, Kate spent over five years at Owens Corning, where she served as Benefits Leader. In this role, she managed global benefits plans across the US, UK, and Canada, expanded wellness initiatives, and integrated data-driven strategies to enhance employee well-being and engagement.
Previously, she worked with Consumers Energy as Benefits Manager for three years, where she transformed a diverse HR team into a high-performing unit, revamped outdated processes, and enhanced financial wellness programs that improved 401(k) deferrals and supported executives with benefits planning.
Earlier in her career, Kate spent more than four years at Willis Towers Watson (WTW) as a Senior Actuarial Analyst, where she was a key resource for benefit valuations, government filings, and compensation redesign projects, while also leading initiatives that improved onboarding and employee engagement. She began her professional journey with The Hanover Insurance Group as an Actuarial Trainee, later gaining experience at the University of Michigan in student housing and tutoring roles, and at Clearview Eyecare as an intern.
