Phoenix, Arizona, United States, December 2025 — Kate Van Der Hyde has taken on a new leadership role as Chief Operating and Growth Officer at Northwestern Mutual, where she will lead operational excellence, advisor growth, training transformation, and business expansion initiatives across the organization’s regional platform.
In her current elevation at Northwestern Mutual, Kate Van Der Hyde has progressed through multiple leadership roles within the organization over more than six years, building deep expertise in advisor development, training strategy, and growth leadership. Prior to assuming her current role, she served as Director of Training and Director of Selection, and earlier as Director of Selection, Training, and Development, where she led large-scale training transformation initiatives, advisor onboarding systems, and leadership development frameworks supporting the firm’s expanding field force.
Earlier in her journey at Northwestern Mutual – The Virginia Group, Kate held roles including Training Manager, Associate Director of Training and Development, and Financial Representative, where she worked closely with new advisor cohorts, strengthened coaching systems, and enhanced advisor readiness programs while also developing direct client advisory experience.
Prior to Northwestern Mutual, Kate worked at Entercom as an Account Executive, strengthening her commercial and client engagement capabilities across media and advertising markets.
At the beginning of her career, she developed frontline sales and customer experience expertise with Tweed as Lead Sales Associate and Personalization Department Manager, and earlier in hospitality roles with The Iron Horse Grill and Kregger’s Tap and Table, building strong foundations in customer engagement, sales effectiveness, and service excellence.
