United Kingdom, October 2025 — Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the appointment of Katy Preston as Vice President Human Resources – Lab Equipment. In this new leadership role, Katy will oversee HR strategy and organizational development across Thermo Fisher’s global lab equipment business, driving initiatives that enhance employee experience, workforce capability, and operational excellence.
Katy has been a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific for nearly 18 years, holding a series of strategic HR leadership roles that have significantly contributed to the company’s growth and talent transformation across multiple divisions and geographies. Most recently, she served as Vice President, Global HR for the ImmunoDiagnostics Division, where she led global HR initiatives focused on leadership development, organizational design, and talent optimization.
Prior to that, she held dual roles as HR Senior Director – Clinical Diagnostics Division and Senior Director HR – UK and Nordics, where she was instrumental in strengthening regional HR frameworks, implementing cultural transformation programs, and managing talent across 25 sites with approximately 5,000 employees.
Earlier in her career, Katy served as European HR Director at Life Technologies, where she played a critical role in building scalable HR systems and aligning people strategy with business expansion across Europe. Before joining Thermo Fisher, she was Vice President of HR EMEA at SurfControl, where she led human resources across multiple countries, developing strong cross-cultural leadership experience.
