Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, January 2026 – Ting Internet has elevated Kerris Hougardy to SVP People, expanding her mandate to lead the people agenda for a mission-driven, fibre-first internet company focused on building “a better internet for today, and tomorrow.” In this role, she will continue shaping the organisation’s talent, culture, and employee experience priorities as Ting scales its direct fibre-to-the-home footprint and strengthens its community impact.
During her approximately three years with Ting Internet, Kerris Hougardy progressed from VP People to SVP People, helping steer core people priorities for a remote-based environment while supporting Ting’s mission of using fibre connectivity to remove barriers, transform communities, and make life online better for individuals and neighbourhoods.
Before joining Ting, she spent close to one year with Ada as Head of People, leading the People function across Employee Experience, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Internal Communications, and Events for a fast-growing organisation of 500+ employees across multiple geographies including Canada, the US, Israel, Singapore, the Philippines, and the UK. Her work included strengthening total rewards infrastructure, elevating talent operations, launching structured review cycles, improving people data quality, and driving engagement and wellbeing programs.
Earlier, Kerris served for nearly four years at Colliers International in senior People leadership roles, including Vice President, People Services North America and leadership responsibilities within Talent Acquisition. She led large HR teams across Canada and the USA, partnering closely with business leadership on strategic HR, employee experience excellence, inclusion initiatives, and continuous process improvement.
She has also built strong foundations in executive search, talent acquisition, and workforce planning through roles with Catalyst Paper, Hays, and earlier specialist search and recruitment organisations, alongside leadership contributions through her board role with the British Canadian Business Association. Kerris holds an MBA from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University.

The company focuses on state-of-the-art fibre optic infrastructure and reinvests in local communities through initiatives such as partnerships, local programs, and support for innovation and learning hubs. Ting also advocates for preserving an open internet and improving digital inclusion
