Helsinki, Finland – December 2024 – Wärtsilä has announced the appointment of Kimmo Paaso as the new Head of People Analytics, where he will spearhead the company’s people analytics initiatives, focusing on enhancing HR insights through data-driven decision-making to support Wärtsilä’s global workforce and sustainability goals.
Paaso brings extensive experience in people analytics and HR reporting, having spent over six years with Wärtsilä. Prior to this role, he was the Head of HR Reporting & Business Intelligence, where he advanced HR data privacy standards and optimized HR reporting functions. His leadership extended to roles such as Business Intelligence Lead, where he managed HR analytics and reporting across the Helsinki Metropolitan area. Paaso also contributed significantly as a Human Resources Specialist, managing analytics, data visualization, and maintaining HRIS modules, which strengthened HR insights and employee engagement strategies within Wärtsilä.
Beginning his journey in HR as an International Mobility Trainee at Wärtsilä, Paaso honed his skills in HR compliance, GDPR alignment, and process automation for EU directives. His early experience includes delivering a consultative selling study at KONE Corporation and managing service delivery projects as an Operations Specialist at HyperIn.
