Krishnan Nilakantan Joins UST as Vice President and Global Head of Learning and Development

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India, April 2025 – Krishnan Nilakantan has been appointed as Vice President and Global Head of Learning and Development at UST, a leading digital transformation solutions provider with a global footprint. In his new role, Krishnan will lead UST’s global L&D strategy, driving innovation, agility, and performance through future-ready learning ecosystems that align with business transformation and growth.

Prior to joining UST, Krishnan served as the Chief Learning Officer at Ramco Systems, where he successfully transformed the company’s learning function into a business-aligned, award-winning capability. Under his leadership, Ramco’s L&D function received multiple accolades including SHRM Excellence in L&D and ETHRWorld’s Best Corporate University award. He implemented scalable frameworks such as the Skill Adequacy Index and developed AI-driven platforms like the J2G App to boost learning efficiency and measurable business impact.

Mastering L&D – Science of Learning: Theories that Fuel Adult Learning Success – Krishnan Nilakantan

Previously, Krishnan held the position of Global Head of Learning and Development at Ness Digital Engineering, where he championed technology-led transformation through adaptive learning, self-service platforms, and immersive learning experiences. His focus on analytics, digital adoption, and scalable content creation modernized global L&D delivery.

Before that, Krishnan led Cognizant’s global learning initiatives as Chief Learning Architect and Global Head of Learning Delivery. He spearheaded strategic programs such as MY LEARNING STUDIO, Degreed-based CoPs, and VR/AR integration, positioning Cognizant at the forefront of corporate learning innovation. His leadership extended to performance consulting, measurement strategies, and content modernization.

Krishnan also held senior roles at Reliance Industries Limited, where he built learning strategy, governance, and digital content practices, and earlier contributed significantly across various roles in L&D and HR at Cognizant over a decade-long tenure. His journey began in the mid-1990s, working with NIIT Ltd, Informatics, and other learning organizations, laying the foundation for a robust career in learning transformation.
