Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, January 2026 – Laura O’Connor has been appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer at Zymeworks Inc., where she will lead the company’s global people strategy as Zymeworks accelerates its oncology and autoimmune disease innovation pipeline.
In her immediate prior role at Zymeworks Inc., Laura O’Connor served as Vice President, Human Resources and DEI, where she strengthened talent strategy, diversity, equity and inclusion frameworks, and organizational capability building across the company’s expanding clinical and research teams.
Earlier, she was Head of Global Human Resources at Zymeworks Biopharmaceuticals Inc., playing a central role in scaling global HR operations and building leadership capability across research, clinical and corporate functions.
Before joining Zymeworks, she served as Director of Human Resources at Merz Pharma Canada and earlier at Ferring Pharmaceuticals, where she led comprehensive HR operations supporting rapidly growing biopharmaceutical portfolios in Canada.
